What does the work involve?

Installation of turnouts for future streetcar lines E and F

Switches will be installed at the Porte de Bourgogne station for future streetcar lines E and F.

This is a complex operation, and the three-month duration of the work is explained by the need to coordinate different stages:

  • floor preparation, track laying,
  • connection to electrical and signalling systems
  • various tests.

What a program!

At the same time, maintenance teams are taking advantage of work on the Bourgogne sector to replace APS rails in areas worn by vehicle traffic. The APS rails, which enable the streetcar to run without overhead cables by capturing electricity from the ground, play an essential role in the smooth running of the network. Four intersections are concerned: Cour des aides, Porte Cailhau, Place Bir Hakeim and Rue des Allamandiers.

Stone bridge consolidation

200 years after its construction on the orders of Napoleon 1st, the stone bridge is beginning to feel the effects of time. From April onwards, numerous tradesmen will be working over the next 4 years to save this emblematic Bordeaux monument, so dear to everyone’s heart.

In this sector, other worksites will take place on Place Stalingrad and Allées de Serr. Information and traffic conditions available on sedeplacer.bordeaux-metropole.fr
